AdBlock - observation

I have AdBlock installed on Chrome, and I have noticed that it continues counting a new blocked Ad every second or so that I am on any page on the forum. I generally do pause it before entering the site anyway I have read the "Please consider supporting this website by disabling your ad-blocker.
This website does not use audio ads, popups, or other annoyances. Thank you!" message that appears when adblock is active and I can respect that, but I don't see ANY ads when adblock is disabled,what exactly is my blocker blocking, ad where do the ads actually appear?
